Zohar is a compassionate and empowering therapist. His goal is to work with you towards reduction of suffering and positive change, in a trusting and safe environment.
The motivation to pursue a career in the helping professions began with his own journey through childhood health issues, and a strong belief in social justice. Zohar earned his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Adler School of Psychology. Previous to this, he received a B.A. in Psychology from York University, and a Diploma in Human Services Counselling from George Brown College. Continuing training included an internship with the York Region Abuse Program and ASIST.
Zohar has worked in the field for 20 years. He has worked in residential (youth and adults), corporate, and community organisations. This has given him the opportunity to work with individuals, from youth to seniors, partners and families. He has extensive experience helping with Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Substance Use, Relationship issues, work and school related issues and is an LGBTQ+ Ally.
Each person brings their unique experiences, personality and needs. One modality doesn’t work for everyone. Zohar is knowledgeable in several therapeutic techniques, including CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy), and Mindfulness.
