Are you feeling overwhelmed by the overwhelming feelings of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, or identity challenges being experienced by your child? Are you looking for a counsellor who believes EVERY CHILD IS MADE FOR MORE and has the experience to help them reach their full potential?
Charles Nyamekye is a passionate mental health clinician currently working with the Northern Health Authority of BC. He brings a deep conviction that every child is made for more and that it takes tuning into their needs to unearth their greatest potential. With extensive experience in supporting children and youth facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, ADD, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders, Charles provides compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers young clients to thrive.
At Positive Kids, Charles draws on his diverse international background, having worked in Ghana, England, and Canada. His experience across various systems allows him to offer a culturally sensitive and flexible approach to mental health care. Using methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), nonviolent communication (NVC), mindfulness, and play therapy, he tailors treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each child, fostering a safe and supportive environment for emotional and behavioural growth.
Charles is dedicated to helping children unlock their full potential by building self-confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience. His belief that EVERY CHILD IS MADE FOR MORE drives his approach, ensuring that each young person receives the care, attention, and support they need to thrive.
Charles loves road trips. He also enjoys experiencing new cultures and trying new foods. He reads and writes as much as giving back to society through volunteering during his free time.
