Gillian Reidy

Counselor

I am a registered social worker holding an Honours Bachelor of Social Work from Carleton University and a Master of Social work at Wilfred Laurier.

I have years of experience counselling and have worked as a child therapist, crisis counsellor and community outreach counsellor. Through this work I have gained additional experience in Crisis prevention and intervention, harm-reduction, and CBT.

I specialize in working with children and neurodiverse individuals. I have over 7 years of social services experience with neurodiverse people in various roles in the community, private practice, and school setting. I take a solution focused and strengths-based approach. I understand people to be highly capable of thriving when given the tools and resources to do so. My work is to partner with families to identify desired outcomes, strengths, and plans to move towards our goal. My work is trauma informed and places emphasis on rapport and harm-reduction, pulling strongly from play therapy and CBT skills.

I view working with young people as a team effort and as such I place great emphasis on partnership with parents, children, and educators. I believe in working as a team to move towards our shared goal of empowering your child to thrive.
