Eve Crawford brings over thirty years of experience as a classroom teacher, education director, and academic coach to her role of Educational Counsellor at Positive Kids. She holds several university degrees, including a Master of Education from OISE’s Department of Applied Psychology and Special Education at the University of Toronto. She also trained as a life and success coach at The Adler School of Psychology, and as a lifestyle and wellness coach at York University. A lifelong learner to this day, Eve continues to take courses and attend workshops to expand and enrich her understanding of herself and her clients. It is as a student herself that Eve fully embraces and appreciates the challenges and successes that come in the role of a “student.”
During sessions, Eve supports her clients by transforming their learning through a strengths-based approach and explicit teaching of executive function skills so that they acquire the tools they need to soar. She focuses sessions on key executive function skills such as time management, task initiation, organization, and metacognition to name just a few. She incorporates direct teaching of active learning strategies to guide students to thrive and reach their maximum potential. Eve is equally interested in supporting parents and helping them understand the uniqueness of their children, and how best to support them.
Students always do better in life and at school when they have people in their lives who believe in them, and who are willing to guide them along the way! Eve feels privileged to be able to work with students and families and share with them her knowledge and expertise both as a teacher and as a lifelong student herself!
