As a psychotherapist I provide play and talk therapy. I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and I was trained by the Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT). My clinical experience and Master’s Case Study work was with individuals experiencing anxiety and trauma.
Sometimes children experience difficulties at school, in their community, or in their home(s). The benefits of therapy for children and teens can be many: they may experience improved self-esteem, self-awareness, and self-confidence; positive emotional, social, and cognitive development may occur; and it may help with emotional intelligence, behaviour, anxiety, resilience, self-regulation, coping with grief or trauma.
I believe in the power if play! Through play children can more easily communicate, explore & express thoughts and feelings, as well as heal. Older children, teens, youth, and adults may benefit from talk therapy, play therapy or a combination of both.
